The CIS Department, as required by the accreditation organization, has established a set of program outcomes for the CS Major. These outcomes indicate the expectations on graduating students. In preparing for the accreditation visit, we need to determine and collect data regarding our ability to prepare students to achieve these outcomes. For our purposes, we focus on a subset of the outcomes.
Your group is to complete the GQM template for a pre-specified goal. Your group will determine questions related to the goal and measures that should illuminate the issues. Each group uses the GQM process as outlined in Basili, Caldiera, Rombach (1994). The table below provides an initial goal for each group. This is the starting point for the GQM process. Each group should take the goal given and elaborate a GQM model. A template for the GQM structure is provided as a word document. Notice the template establishes the purpose, issue, object, and viewpoint. Hence, you are to develop the questions and metrics. The template is intended to help structure your exploration, and facilitate the development of the issues in a top-down manner. The complete, group, GQM model is due on Wednesday, February 25, uploaded to Portal as a word processing document.
