Process definition is a new and evolving technology area. The overall goals of our study to understand the various steps of defining processes and evaluate notations for representing these processes. These goals are consistent with the STARS vision of a process- driven, reuse-based, technology-supported paradigm for the development of software-intensive systems [20]. The lessons learned from our work with respect to the goals are discussed in Section 5.
